State Cave Surveys

The goal of this roundtable session is to share updates, best practices and strategies between various State Cave surveys of the NSS. Emphasis is on the functions of the surveys such as state of the art data, data collection, management and storage systems, and data access, policies and procedures. In addition to data and procedures is the importance of building relationships between surveys and governmental agencies who manage those resources.

Student Scientists:

The James G. Mitchell Fund was established in 1965 and is maintained by contributions to the National Speleological Foundation. This award includes a cash award for the best scientific paper presented at the NSS Convention by a student member (or members) of the society. Eligible papers shall be judged by an interdisciplinary panel appointed by the Mitchell Award sub-committee chair.
