NSS Convention ~ July 25-30, 2021

Your nearest volcano: Mount Shasta

For most of the continental United States, the western coast offers scenes unlike anything you might experience back home! From steaming volcanic fumaroles to boiling sulphuric mud pots, the active volcanology in the area is a must-see. Located just 10 miles from our convention site, the 14,179-foot Mount Shasta is a classic example of a stratovolcano.

With cautious optimism, we are hoping Covid-19 will no longer be a threat to our guests by the time the NSS 2021 Convention arrives.

The 2021 convention team of the National Speleological Society recognizes the uncertainty in this pandemic world. Of course, we share your concerns. Throughout all of our decisions, the health and safety of our national membership remains at the front of our efforts.

NOTE: Over the last few weeks, we have been exploring the option of moving the convention to July 24-31. We do not yet know if that will be possible, but a decision is expected before the end of March.
